As a small, family-owned business, we believe that we have a responsibility to positively impact the lives of those around us. We believe in the dignity of every person. Our belief is that individuals flourish when they are part of a community rather than being isolated.
Recently, we had a conversation with The Summer Camp Society and recognized that BIPOC children [ Black, Indigenous, and People of Color ] are often underrepresented in summer camps. To address this disparity, we have made the decision to sponsor [ 10 ] children and cover their fees [ up to $1,000.00 apiece ].
We understand the many benefits that summer camp provides to children, including connecting with nature, building social skills, fostering personal growth, and establishing relationships and a sense of belonging. We are excited to contribute to this positive experience for these children and make a meaningful impact in our society.
We are thrilled to announce the ESS Cares summer camp scholarship program specifically designed to support BIPOC youth ages 13 to 17. We believe that all youth should have the opportunity to explore and develop their individual potential, regardless of their background. Our hope is that these scholarships will provide a path for underprivileged youth to access educational and recreational opportunities. We believe that by investing in BIPOC youth, we are investing in the future of our society. We are proud to offer this program and hope that it will inspire other organizations to follow suit in their efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
