At ESS Universal: Heavy Duty Bunk Beds we have the pleasure of working with YMCA Camp Greenville on several occasions, fulfilling multiple orders to support their camp and now our bunks are being featured in their dedicated cabin for the late Executive Director Charlie Johnson. We are honored to have been a part of the Johnson Cabin!

YMCA Camp Greenville unveiled a new cabin honoring the late Charlie Johnson on June 5.
Johnson served as the Greater Greenville YMCA’s executive director from 1967 to 1978. The cabin was funded by the Stephen D. Mitchell Foundation.
As executive director, Johnson helped add additional YMCA branches to serve the entirety of Greenville County, organized the first YMCA child care program and implement youth soccer at the YMCA. He also helped create the YMCA Endowment Corp. for the Greater Greenville YMCA in 1976.
The new 12-bed cabin will provide lodging for an additional 96 campers participating in Camp Greenville’s 2024 summer camp sessions. Eight sessions will be held from June 9 to Aug. 3. Camp Greenville currently has a waitlist of more than 800 children.
The Charlie Johnson cabin is situated on the site of the original Camp Greenville cabins built in 1925. Two identical cabins are slated to be built on each side of the new cabin. The YMCA is currently seeking funding for the additional cabins.
