What is the difference between the commercial and residential products?
The product sold under ‘Commercial’, and ‘Residential’ are 100% the same. The only difference is we are able to provide quantity discounts for larger volume orders (typically commercial use).
What are my shipping options?
Commercial – Drop ship is the least expensive option. With drop ship, a freight carrier will deliver merchandise to your facility’s address. You or your staff will be required to unload the trailer from the curbside or loading dock; no equipment is provided. Note that most carriers limit your unload time to two hours; additional charges may be added if your unload time exceeds two hours. ESS will communicate directly with the freight carrier and with you, the client, to ensure a smooth delivery.
Residential – Product will be delivered by an LTL [ less than truckload ] truck. Product is palletized and will be removed from the truck by liftgate and lowered onto your driveway. Delivery can be scheduled to a specific time, and a signature may be required. Note: It is the client’s responsibility to transport the product into their residence, & dispose of the wooden pallet.
How is freight calculated?
Commercial – ESS Universal bids out the specific shipment through a variety of freight carrier networks. We choose the lowest price and pass the lowest cost on to you. Depending on order size, ESS may be able to offer FREE shipping.
Residential – Pricing is based upon a grid-system between the following territories: Central, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and West. We have calculated the average cost(s) for each territory based upon quantity ordered. Each client is charged accordingly. Canada is treated the same way.
Will I be able to get an appointment for delivery?
Commercial – Yes, you can schedule the specific delivery day and morning [ or afternoon ] time-slot. Note that most carriers limit your unload time to two hours; additional charges may be added if your unload time exceeds two hours.
Residential – Yes, you can schedule a specific window for the product to be delivered, and you may need to sign for delivery.
How long will it take to get my furniture?
Commercial – A typical order will be delivered within 7 – 9 weeks of confirmed order directly to your door. If your order is ‘custom’ it may add an addition 1 – 2 weeks, but we always do our best to advise you of any delays. Depending on quantity, we may be able to ship from our warehouse for delivery within 5 – 7 business days.
Residential – Deliveries will be made within 5 – 7 business days.
